Stainless Steel Elliptical Head
Stainless steel elliptical head is an end cap for pipes and pressure vessels.
It closes off the end of a pipe or forms the top and bottom of a pressure tank.
The shape is made by spinning an ellipse with a major‐to‐minor axis ratio of 2:1, known as the standard elliptical head.

FAQ
Q1: How does an elliptical head differ from a hemispherical head?
A1: An elliptical head uses approximately half the material of a hemispherical head while retaining ~90 % of its strength.
Q2: What is the standard depth for a 2:1 ellipsoidal head?
A2: Per ASME VIII-1 UG-32(d), depth = ¼ of the vessel diameter.
Q3: What customization options does LYH Steel offer?
A3: Diameters from 100 mm to 6000 mm, wall thicknesses 3 mm to 150 mm, any major international standard, and custom edge preparations.
