Quality Inspection

Quality inspection of steel products is crucial to ensure compliance with industry standards and to meet your specific requirements, reducing the risk of nonconforming materials reaching your production line.

LYH Steel maintains a dedicated inspection team that conducts both Pre-Shipment Inspections and Container Loading Supervision to guarantee product integrity from our warehouse to your port of destination.

Pre-Shipment Inspections

LYH Steel’s Pre-Shipment Inspections can be performed on a random sampling of finished goods or via a full inspection covering every item, ensuring that all packed products comply with your purchase specifications. Inspectors verify multiple quality parameters on-site before packing to catch any deviations early and maintain consistency.

Style and Quantity Check

Weight Verification: The actual weight of steel products is confirmed by calibrating precision weighing apparatus against certified standards to ensure accuracy.

Piece Count: Items such as plates, sheets, tubes, and bars are counted individually to verify quantities against your order, preventing shortages or overages.

Steel Dimension Check

Inspectors measure key dimensions to match agreed specifications:

Plates & Sheets/Coils: Thickness and width are checked using calibrated micrometers and calipers.

Bars: Diameter measurements ensure conformity to tolerance limits.

Pipes: Outside diameter and wall thickness are verified with ultrasonic gauges or mechanical calipers.

Visual Inspection of Steel

Mill Test Certificate (MTC): Inspectors cross-verify each batch against the manufacturer’s MTC to confirm material grade and traceability .

Chemical Composition: A PMI spectrometer is used for rapid, non-destructive analysis of alloy composition, ensuring the steel grade matches your requirements.

Marking & Packing: Shipping marks, labels, and packaging integrity are checked to ensure proper identification and protection during transit.

Container Loading Supervision

LYH Steel’s Container Loading Supervision guarantees that your steel cargo is loaded safely and correctly into containers, reducing damage and ensuring regulatory compliance. Our supervisors monitor every step of the loading process.

1. Quantity & Weight Confirmation

Supervisors re-check quantities and total weight against shipping documents to prevent discrepancies .

2. Packaging & Label Verification

All packages and labels are inspected for accuracy and durability to ensure proper handling and traceability .

3. Container Condition Check

The container’s internal and external condition (cleanliness, dryness, structural integrity) is assessed to avoid water ingress or contamination.

4. Loading Supervision

The placement and securing of steel products are closely monitored, using appropriate lashing and dunnage to prevent shifting during sea transport.

5. Sealing & Departure

After loading, the container is sealed under supervision, and the seal number is recorded to ensure the container leaves in its inspected condition.
